Auf der DLD10 in München Ende Januar in München gab es ein interessantes Interview mit Mike Schroepfer (Vice President of Enginierring bei Facebook) zu Daten und Privatsphäre.

Dabei ging es hauptsächlich darum, wie Facebook sich selbst sieht, wie es seine Zukunft sieht, wie es seine vielen Anpassungen auf Facebook.com einschätzt und auch interessanterweise seine Sichtweisen zu Userdaten und Privatsphäre.

• 2 Seiten von Facebook = Facebook.com + “Facebook the platform (esp. Facebook Connect)” –> “Facebook is the glue” (Facebook is more than the website)
• Facebook ist auch ohne facebook.com denkbar
• “all the things in the world are better with my friends”
• Facebook als Plattform –> “we provide the web service for communcation and identity” (GLUE) –> “and let the entire world go out and innovate and build the best sites” (instead Facebook building the best version itself)
• “we do listen when people complain – but also look how they act and then match it”
